I agree with websnark. The metaphorical pigeon bit is really, really funny. Also nice foreshadowing from Ed’s comment.

  2. Wombasaurus says:

Hey, some of us are reading this for the first time. Let’s watch it with any sort of spoilers, please. Even something as vague as the above gives a lot away.

  3. jursamaj says:

Wombasaurus: are those… mouth tentacles on your kitten?

  4. TekServer says:

    Cthulhu-kitteh?

    😉

    (Love the “metaphorical pigeon”!)

  5. Walt says:

what’s with all the cthulhu references on this site? I think I’m missing something…

But I do love the metaphorical pigeon.

  6. bunnyrulerofthemoon says:

Wow, rats with wings…my dad calls pigeons that all the time, it’s funny to see it in a comic!

  7. Matthias says:

Being on my second archive trawl, I think I can think of someone else who we might call a god-rat that it might be smart not to trust…

  8. Shadw21 says:

I wonder if Shadowchild was born from a rat with wings? It’s not like he really knew what a bird was and the rats with wings are white.

  9. Silver Guardian says:

@Shadw21: Do we know that for certain? I don’t specifically recall any mention of the winged rats’ colors, and with the entire comic drawn in black and white, there’s no inherent sense of color at all; not even a shade of gray to indicate how dark or light a creature might be.

For all we know from seeing this one, he could be pure black in person, and simply drawn white for the sake of satisfying the reader’s natural desire for knowing what it looks like.
