Digger

Lady Surka is actually a major character in absentia in my children’s book Nurk, which details her grandson’s adventures. You can order it through Amazon and everything!

Nurk was a Premier Selection of the Junior Library Guild and got quite a nice review from Kirkus, whom I’m told doesn’t like ANYTHING. It doesn’t have trolls, but it has a lot of other odd and amusing things.

  1. Oh. My. Gosh. I hadn’t remembered the shrew from Digger, and thus never made the connection. You just made me squeal in fanboy glee.

  2. Lanthir says:

Omg, omg, omg, omg, It’s SURKA! (^___^)

  3. Big Fuzzy Chris says:

And here when I got to Surka I was thinking of the vine in Hero and the Crown. Wrong childhood reference. Oops.

  4. Fred says:

Her voice sounds like John Cleese in my head. It’s the “Somebody died and made you an expert on the habits of trolls” bit that did it.

  5. Woofus says:

Is her severed head collection nearby?
    I’d love to see it!

  6. Matanui3 says:

My response to this might well be “Well, then maybe I’M a troll and maybe YOU are just a shrew!”
…but digger would never say that.
