I think that Ed should get to be a skin lizard. His breath should become butterflies, his shadow a deer, and whatnot. Skins are immortal. Ed should be too. *sobs* poor dear sweet little Ed. I don’t know about you guys, but i actually cried when Ed died. I thought the heart would provide enough squishy cushioning.
As my friend pointed out, though, the heart could just have easily turned over and bounced on top of Ed. What happened to that giant heart after it brutally killed Ed by squishification?

The legend with the heart-kingfisher didn’t say anything about what happened to the liver. When the lizards are cutting Ed up for his skin, they can give Digger the liver. After all, if she can choke down the liver of someone who she didn’t know who died to save her, can’t she do that for her best friend Ed, who died to save everyone?
Poor Ed. *sobs quietly* also Poor Digger.

As for eating Ed’s liver, just having one bit put a shodow on Digger’s heart, at least according to Shadowchild. While I think that liver-eating is perfectly acceptable for a hyena, Digger should only eat his liver if she herself feels that it is an act of love.

Well, hey, Digger might not be up to making the tribe eat Ed’s liver — but I’d bet the first hyena to say something disparaging about Ed in her presence will be getting a taste of pickaxe. Or at least a good dressing-down.
